Hello people,

I need an urgent advice. My daughter has been charged with indecent behavior in public. What happened is she went to the park with her friends and had a few beers and had a laugh. This is what she is telling me, there might be more to it… I just do not know. My daughter is 15. What di I do now?

Dear Ms Boulanger,

If a young person is charged with a Provincial Offence, their identity cannot be revealed and the Provincial Offence Notice must be served on the child’s parents. There is also no option for the payment of a fine if a child is charged with a Provincial Offence and therefore the youth is issued with a court summons.
