Paulette D.

Hello,

Recently I went to an insurance company to purchase car insurance. They tried to sell me a very expensive one, claiming it was "mandatory coverage". What does DC-PD mean? Do I have to buy it?

Please help

PS I live in Ontario

thanks

Dear Paulette,

If you own a vehicle in Ontario, car insurance is obligatory. Manadatory covreage includes insurance for Third Party liability Coverage, DC-PD (Direct Compensation – Property Damage), Statutory Accident benefits Coverage and Uninsured Automobile Coverage. You will need all of these if you ever have a car accident. For more information check out this site: http://legalcanadacommunity.co…..nt%20Claim
