Dear Sirs,

I rent out a big house in Toronto, Recently I noticed a problem with one of the tenants who smokes marijuana and this bothers the other tenants in the house. A few of them have threatened to leave if thisd practice continues. Is there a law against this?

Dear Ms Stephens,


If you have approached the tenant who smokes marijuana with the request to discontinue the practice to no avail, your next step is to approach the Residential Tenancy board in your province. Its role is to like a court helping landlords and tenants to solve disputes either through a residential tenancy hearing or mediation.
