Is arbitration better than mediation for a dispute with my ex wife over the higher purchase owed on the car. The HP is in my name but she got the car as part of our settlement but she has defaulted on the last payment. I would rather take the car back than loose it. Cool

Arbitration would work well in this case. Both you and your ex wife would have the opportunity to put forward your arguments regarding the possesion of the car and a qualified arbitrator would make a decision based on the evidence he / she had heard. a simialr thing happened to me with my ex. we had to go through mediation and it all seemed to go well but then he didnt stick with the mediation agreement so i had to go thru more hassle and take him to the small claims court, by this time the car company had been and repossessed the car so in a way it was a waste of time trying. I had to change my small claim documents to sue him for making me lose the car.
